Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic Deputy PACS Manager to join our busy PACS Team at Watford General Hospital.
The PACS Team provides support for PACS, RIS, Order Communications (EPR and ICE) and the Image Exchange Portal. These systems impact many staff groups across the Trust and the PACS Team members spend much of their time troubleshooting issues.
The post holder will help to provide support for PACS/RIS applications and forEPR/Order Comms issues that relate to Radiology.
The post holder will have the opportunity to get involved in these projects as well as supporting the redevelopment works across the Trust.
This is a Monday - Friday, 30 hours/week, part-time post. There is no on-call commitment.
The main base for this post will be Watford General Hospital, butthe post holder will be expected to travel to all three Trust sites as required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work throughout the Trust to ensure that the clinical images are available where requiredor patient management and will liaise closely with clinical teams. This will include troubleshooting issues with PACS, RIS , EPR and ICE where they interface with Radiology.
The post holder will be required to work in clinical areas to resolve problems with digital x-ray equipment where it interfaces with PACS and RIS and to ensure that the staff gain the maximum possible benefit from the system.
The post holder will represent the Trust effectively in dealings with PACS and radiology equipment manufacturers, other Trusts and NHS departments. This involves contact with staff at many levels.
The post holder will contribute to the strategic direction of the Department, ensuring an effective and responsive Radiology service.
The post holder will contribute to the recruitment of staff and carry out staff appraisals within the Radiology department.
