Job summary

We are looking for a CT Colonoscopy Lead Radiographer to join our radiographic workforce.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the endoscopy and gastro teams at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals Trust.

The role is a leadership position within the CT outpatient department alongside endoscopy and gastro teams.

They will be mentoring and supporting a team of Radiographers undertaking CT Colonoscopies.

There will be a requirement to undertake virtual CT Colonoscopies, demonstrating exemplary patient care and attention to detail.

The post holder will be working closely and reporting to the CT outpatient lead Radiographer and Endoscopy lead Nurse/Practitioner.

There may be a requirement to work within the endoscopy/gastro suite and assist with the diagnostic referrals and appointment handling.

Main duties of the job

This role requires working cross-site & departments between Radiology and potentially Endoscopy.

The post holder will act as a link between endoscopy and colorectal services to improve pathway from referral to diagnostic phase.

This post holder will lead and assist on reducing waiting times from referral to colonography and referral to CTC diagnostic tests.

  • Recognised CTC certificate or post graduate equivalent.

  • HCPC registration.

Desirable

  • Qualification in reporting CT Virtual Pneumocolons.
  • PgD in radiographic disciplines.
  • Leadership certificates.
  • Endoscopy clinics.

Knowledge:

Essential

  • Good knowledge of adaptive techniques.
  • Aware of current trends relevant to the profession.
  • GIRFT recommendations.
  • RCR guidelines on CTC imaging.

Desirable

  • CT Pnuemocolon image recognition and preparation.
  • Public sector/NHS knowledge.
  • Safeguarding.
  • Complaint resolution and handling.
  • Business continuity processes.
  • PTL and RTT knowledge.
