Job summary

We are seeking a Respiratory Rota and Bookings Co-ordinator to manage and oversee the Respiratory Consultant Rota and outpatient scheduling for West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

The post holder will play a key role in coordinating the consultant rota to ensure adequate workforce coverage across all sites. They will also be responsible for managing clinics and scheduling respiratory outpatient appointments efficiently.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will also be responsible for scheduling Respiratory outpatient sessions. They will manage their own workload and work closely with clinical teams to arrange backfill, ensuring adequate capacity and the smooth running of the service.

The post holder will be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within the management team, effectively prioritising tasks in line with service needs.

Maintaining accurate record of leave, ward cover and on call rotas for Consultants, Associate Specialists, Registrars and Nurse Specialist by using Medirota and local electronic diary systems.

Effective backfill of Respiratory and CLCH sessions including ad hoc weekend ad-hoc clinics by liaising with clinical, administrative and outpatient teams.

Set up and manually add / remove Respiratory sessions on Bookwise.

Adhere to specific list requirements including availability of outpatient rooms, reduced/delayed starts list for training, variation of slots per type of clinic, 18 week RTT targets.

Adaptability and response to short notice changes and requests for extra sessions to be added to the system and the rota updated to reflect changes.

Ensuring clinic and ward cover is confirmed in advanced for every session/list, adhering to the six-week cancellation rule.

To update Medirota with all the above outpatient clinics, annual leave, study leave, wards and on call NIV rota.
