Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust for an individual with a passion for making a difference to patients on our inpatient wards at Watford Hospital.

This role would suit someone with a keen interest in supporting patients to regain their function, facilitating timely discharges, and assisting with equipment ordering to promote independence and help patients return home.

Interviews will take place on Wednesday, 11th June.

Main duties of the job

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, dedicated team of Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to maintain and improve our service.

This post is based in the Care of the elderly therapy team comprised of experienced static and rotational staff.

Essential

  • Good general education up to GSCE or equivalent.

Desirable

  • NVQ level 3 in health-related subject or equivalent qualification.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of the occupational therapy role within rehab and discharge planning.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of local services for onward referral.

Experience:

Essential

  • NHS experience, in particular in an Acute environment.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising own caseload.

Desirable

  • Relevant experience as an OTA or similar.
  • Experience of working with clients with cognitive impairment/confusion/dementia.
