Job summary

We have a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join our friendly and forward-thinking Outpatient Physiotherapy Department.

This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) is based at our Jacketts Field site in Abbots Langley.

You will be working within a busy and welcoming outpatient physiotherapy team, where you will be supported throughout the fixed-term contract by a qualified Band 7/6 Physiotherapist through our well-established supervision framework.

You will receive robust training and have access to in-service learning opportunities, with the chance to further develop your existing skills in both one-to-one and group-based clinical settings.

Interviews will be held in person at the West Hertfordshire Therapy Unit, Outpatient Physiotherapy Department, Jacketts Field Site, Abbots Langley.

Provisional interview dates are scheduled for 30th April and 1st May.

Main duties of the job

You will be assessing, treating, progressing and discharging routine MSK patients - trauma and elective post-operative orthopaedic presentations.

You will be running group exercise sessions - for example TKR classes and lower limb classes.

You will also help support our qualified staff in joint treatment sessions, as and when appropriate.

  • Good general education up to GSCE or equivalent NVQ level III in health-related subject or equivalent qualification.
  • No HCPC required.

  • Evidence of recent study in field of health care and/or rehabilitation.

Knowledge:

Essential

  • Understanding of the therapy assistant role within rehab and discharge planning.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of local services for onward referral.

Experience:

Essential

  • Significant experience as a therapy or nursing assistant in the NHS.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising own caseload.
  • NHS experience.

Desirable

  • Experience of outcome measures and common rehab techniques.
