Job summary

A rewarding opportunity has become available for a Mortuary Administrator and Tissue Coordinator to join the Mortuary team at West Herts NHS Teaching Trust.

We welcome applications from individuals with experience in a mortuary setting in a support role.

The role requires maintaining accurate traceability records for all post-mortem retained tissue and whole organs, in line with HTA regulations.

A strong understanding of HTA standards and relevant codes, particularly those related to traceability, families' wishes, and consent for retention, is essential.

With a newly built body store mortuary at the Watford site and a refurbished mortuary and post-mortem suite set to open at the Hemel site in early 2025, this is a key time to become part of the team.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday across both the Watford and Hemel sites, supporting the senior team in the daily operations of the Mortuary.

Reporting to the Senior Site APT, with direct accountability to the Mortuary Manager, they will ensure compliance with regulations concerning retained post-mortem tissue.
