An exceptional opportunity has arisen within the Respiratory Department at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust for a fixed-term consultant post, with the potential for transition to a substantive position for suitable candidates. Main duties of the job

Outpatient Clinics:o Conduct three general respiratory clinics per week, addressing a wide range of respiratory conditions.o Manage one sleep clinic per week, focusing on sleep-disordered breathing and related conditions.o Lead one general respiratory triage clinic per week, assessing and managing new referrals and urgent cases.Procedureso Perform 1-3 bronchoscopy sessions per week, including diagnostic and interventional procedures.On-Call and Ward Commitmentso Participate in a 1 in 12 ward rota, which includes providing cover during weekends.o Contribute to the NIV on-call rota, supporting patients with acute and chronic respiratory failure.o Engage in the general medical on-call rota, covering Monday to Thursday from 5 PM-9 PM, followed by remote on-call responsibilities to ensure continuity of care for acute medical admissions.This role offers a balanced mix of outpatient, procedural, and inpatient responsibilities, providing the successful candidate with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across multiple aspects of respiratory care.
