Job summary
We are looking for a well organised and effective individual who can work within a team of Buyers, providing low value but high-volume buying services across all member Trusts.
They will directly assist the Transactional Buying Team Manager in achieving the future vision of the Tactical and Transactional Buying service.
The post holder will gain a working knowledge of Public Sector procurement in relation to low value but high-volume tactical buying operations and procurement projects.
The role will require good stakeholder engagement skills as they will be required to work across all member Trusts as well as providing support to the Trust and ICS Procurement teams.
The hours for this role will be 08.30 - 16.30 Monday - Friday.
The role is an 18-month Level 3 Procurement and Supply Assistant Apprenticeship which is the process of procurement or buying goods and services, funding rules apply to this apprenticeship. This is a progression role moving to a Band 4 subject to completion of the apprenticeship course.
Apprenticeship eligibility- Have the right to reside in the UK and have been a resident for a minimum of 3 years.
Over the age of 16 and not currently in full-time education.

Main duties of the job
The Tactical and Transactional Buyer role will directly report into the Transactional Buying Team Manager who will be responsible for leading the Tactical and Transactional Buying team. The Transactional Buyer will be responsible for:
Providing consistent, standard transactional buying of low value, high volume goods and services using aligned policies, processes and procurement systems.
Undertaking and supporting tactical procurements as allocated by the Tactical Buying Team Manager, to support the Procurement Team.
Actioning requisitions and producing orders to external companies as and when required.
Assisting with the achievement of all purchasing and supply strategies.
