Job summary

We are seeking a dynamic individual to be a Clinical Fellow in Gastroenterology - Fixed term post from 7/02/2024- 06/08/2024.

It is a full time post with no on call commitment.

The post will be expected to be able to travel to all three Trust hospital Sites (Watford General Hospital, Hemel Hempstead Hospital and St Albans Hospital).

Main duties of the job

Your role will involve continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care, undertaking ward duties under the direction of senior colleagues, providing evidence-based care for patients in a multi-disciplinary setting and conducting suitable duties in cases of emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.

As part of a team, you will work with the Consultant and a team of junior doctors to manage ward in-patients. This will primarily be looking after patients on the Gastroenterology ward, but may also involve seeing Gastroenterology inpatient referrals on other wards. You will also be expected to take part in Clinical Governance Meetings and be involved in Audit within the Department and be expected to supervise junior medical staff and have continuing inpatient responsibility in conjunction with the members of junior doctors' medical team.
