An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse in Dermatology at Trust site: Watford.
The role of Dermatology Specialist Nurse reporting to Senior Dermatology Specialist Nurse, who will be responsible for leading the day to day running of the department, developing services, and maintaining care standards in Dermatology.
We are therefore looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our nursing team with extensive Band 5 Dermatology experience who can demonstrate the responsibilities of clinical leadership and accountability whilst still providing and promoting safe and effective patient care, through positive role modelling and patient focused, evidence-based practice.
Main duties of the job
The post holder is expected to demonstrate a good understanding of the dermatology conditions and treatment. They will be expected to teach other staff and students about skin conditions and treatment. They will be expected to act as a good role model in a professional manner.
They will require good communication skills and be able to work well in a multi-disciplinary team. They will be expected to attend specialist team meetings. They will need to maintain continuing professional development in line with the NMC.

- The post holder will have experience of phototherapy treatments.
- Book and run a PDT clinic weekly.
- Lead nurse for leg ulcer, minor surgery, and drug monitoring nursing clinics.
- Support junior member of the team and student in developing and expanding their knowledge in Dermatology.
- Assisting in the running of the day treatment units e.g. ordering stock and pharmacy.
- Advising and teaching students ward nurses and primary care staff in management of dermatology patient.
