Job summary

We are seeking a qualified tradesperson responsible for undertaking planned and reactive maintenance of complex electrical, mechanical and control systems across the diverse building services of the Trust estate.

**For this role we require you to have an Electrical/Mechanical engineer level qualifications**

This vacancy will be based at our Watford General Hospital, however there may be occasions when the role will be required to travel across sites.

They will have the ability to analyse complex faults and undertake rectifications to ensure continuity of service.

The Electrician will be able to prioritise their workloads, identify potential improvement to operational system and management processes in order to increase departmental efficiencies.

The job:

May involve shift working and planned overtime.

Will involve on-call responsibilities - you would need to be on site within 1 hour of call out.

All staff required to undertake on-call commitments must be able to make their own way to and from the required locations.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be required to undertake complex trade tasks within their specialist area in support of the Team's overall output whilst promoting the Estates Departments Health & Safety awareness and operational practice culture, demonstrating good and safe working practices in line with Trust and industry standards.

They will manage, coordinate, and monitor an assigned list of daily planned and reactive workloads, escalating to the Operational Supervisors any instances where additional staff or materials are required or where works require Contractor support.

In addition, they will Implement and enforce current policies relating to works undertaken personally or under their instruction, carrying out ad hoc inspections of works completed to ensure appropriate standards are being delivered, all whilst acting appropriately with due regard for the patients and clinical staff.
