Job summary

A exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior nurse with operational and/or a leadership background to take the next step in their career to join our team of night matrons.

You will work at night supporting the divisions with nurse leadership. You will be expected to support in teams to ensure safe and effective care is provided to all our patients. You will be supported and encouraged to grow as a member of dynamic and evolving team.

Interviews will be held on 12th July.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • The post holder will act as an expert source of advice, working alongside other operational staff.
  • The post holder will be a visible, pro-active and accessible leader, acting as a clinical resource and ensuring the sustained delivery of high standards of care.
  • Will be a professional role for nursing staff on night duty.
  • Promote positive environments and patient experience.
  • Confident and pioneering, wanting to become a Matron

The post holder will provide clinical, social and psychological support to their patients/service users using excellent communication skills, education and health promotion to enable then to reach their optimum level of independence and health.

Although the post-holder has no direct budgetary responsibility they will be expected to assist with the effective use of resources in their clinical area.

The successful candidate will work as part of the senior nurse on call roster. The role will be predominantly night duty, however due gain further knowledge and experience you will work someday shifts alongside other matron colleagues.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate previous substantive experience of working at a senior level displaying the motivation and skills to work with the current existing team in collaboration with senior nursing and clinical staff and organisational staff.
