Job summary

The opportunity has arisen for a part-time band 2 Healthcare Support Worker to join the team of a busy Pre-operative Assessment department at St Albans City Hospital.

This is a part-time post working 19 hours per week, 2 x 8:00am - 6:00pm Monday to Friday.

The POA team are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supportive & friendly environment.

Main duties of the job

The role of the band 2 Healthcare Support Worker is to provide high quality nursing care whilst supporting the Registered Nurses.

You will support the RN`s by undertaking basic patient observations, urinalysis, recording ECG`s & completing documentation.

Good organisational & communication skills are important, together with the ability to work unsupervised.

Training will be given if required.

Working alongside the registered nurse, undertake patient observations, peak flow and ECG. Report all findings to the registered nurse for action.

Support the development of pre-operative assessment clinic planning, implementing and evaluating standards of nursing care and then application in a progressive and changing environment, within the West Hertfordshire NHS Trust.
