Job summary

This role is responsible for supporting the design and delivery of a range of learning and development interventions across the organisation, helping to improve organisational culture in line with our PRIDE values and MTW Leadership Behaviours and promoting Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust as the employer of choice. The post holder will work closely with Divisions in relation to leadership development, team development, personal development, talent management and succession planning and associated engagement activities.

Main duties of the job

To support implementation of a programme of development opportunities to embed our values and behaviours, drive cultural change and the delivery of the Trusts' People, Leadership and Talent Management Strategies by the design, delivery and evaluation of well-co-ordinated, high-quality training, facilitation and other learning and development activities to underpin:

  • Recruitment

About us

MTW is a large acute hospital trust in the south-east of England.

We provide a full range of general hospital services and some aspects of specialist and complex care to around 600,000 people living in west Kent and East Sussex. We have a team of over 8,000 full and part-time staff. We also provide specialist cancer services to around 2 million people across Kent and East Sussex via the Kent Oncology Centre.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in related area or equivalent level of knowledge based on experience.
  • Coaching/Mentoring qualification
  • Accredited to deliver behavioural tool i.e., SDI, TMSDI, MBTI, EQ, Insights
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and acquiring new skills/knowledge over the last 5 years

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified or equivalent L&D qualifications
  • 360 feedback facilitator
  • Recognised teaching qualification (e.g.: TAP, PTLLS, CTLLS, DTLLS)
  • Recognised Leadership and Management qualification at diploma level or equivalent.

Knowledge/Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a in a HR/L&D/OD function
  • Trained and experienced in facilitating and giving feedback to individuals and teams
  • Designing, delivering and evaluating training programmes and other learning and development interventions in a large multi-disciplinary organisation.
  • Using a range of team and individual diagnostic/feedback tools e.g., 360-degree feedback and other psychometric tools such as MBTI, Insights and Belbin
  • Significant experience of providing development advice and guidance to senior managers

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to gain and maintain credibility and establish good working relationships with people at all levels
  • Minimum of three years' experience in providing coaching and mentoring
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Proven track record in creating robust LNA/TNA and developing fit for purpose business solutions
  • Advanced keyboard skills and IT literate including Word, PowerPoint Excel, E-mail and internet

Desirable

  • Detailed, up to date knowledge of a wide range of subject areas including Leadership and Management, Team Working/Building, Personal Effectiveness and Communication skills
