Job summary

We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapists to join the Stroke and Neurology Team at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust. The Trust is delighted that the Maidstone Hospital has been chosen as one of the sites for a Hyper acute Stroke Unit in the Kent and Medway Sustainability Transformation in 2020/21, and the post holders will be integral to this exciting and transformative service. We are based in the heart of Kent and with easy links from London and the Kent coast.

You will help deliver highly specialist physiotherapy to Stroke services which includes Acute, in-patient Rehab and a small ESD rehab service. Excellent communication skills and significant experience in stroke are essential. Further experience in neurology is desirable.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high standard of Physiotherapy Service to In- patients on the Stroke wards and Neurology outlier patients, to include assessment, advice, treatment and patient management.

Stroke services have recently undergone some service re-design resulting in off-site Rehabilitation beds (based in Sevenoaks community Hospital) and an ESD team lead by MTW therapists in partnership with Hilton to provide enhanced care packages. We also have a Neurology outliers service at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital. You may be required to work in any of these areas.

To contribute to service development and on occasions lead on particular service development initiative.

To provide peer support including teaching within the physiotherapy service.

  • Diploma / degree in physiotherapy
  • Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio including attendance at recent postgraduate courses relevant to the clinical field
  • State registration
  • Portfolio evidence of information learning.

  • Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Involvement in CSP Special Clinical Interest Group
  • Clinical Interest Group

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working as part of a physiotherapy team and/or multidisciplinary team
