Job summary

Pharmacy Services at Tunbridge Wells Hospital are modern and proactive and are highly regarded in the Trust.

The Pharmacy is in a modern purpose built department complete with fully automated dispensary and excellent training facilities.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team of friendly Pharmacy Assistants in our Pharmacy Stores and Distribution department.

You will be part of a busy team who deliver a high standard of service to the wards and have the opportunity to work in the busy dispensary. You will facilitate stock and IV fluid replenishment to the wards to ensure there is sufficient stock available to maintain patient care. You will also provide Annual leave cover for colleagues at an off site facility.

Main duties of the job

You will ensure all external deliveries are received correctly and stored appropriately within our modern stores area. You will help deliver medication to wards and departments, check and request stock requirements and update stock lists. Dispensing is on a limited basis but will form part of your duties. Being relied upon to pack Emergency medication boxes on a routine basis is valued task.

Some computer experience would be an advantage however you will be trained to use the JAC Pharmacy computer system.

The role does involve heavy lifting due to large orders being delivered to the Pharmacy stores and when delivering to the wards and departments.

You should enjoy working in a team but will be required to work on your own at times. You must also be accurate, numerate and organised with good communication skills.

Training will be provided to achieve NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services including dispensing if the qualification is not currently held
