Job summary
We are looking for a nurse with experience of caring for patients on clinical trials in Intensive Care, to join our busy Critical Care Research Team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
You will join a nationally recognised team of research delivery staff who are currently supporting ITU patients on various trials researchinggenomes, COVID-19, AKI & metabolic acidosis and oxygen therapy. You will also be working on clinical trials in ED and peri-operative care. You will be responsible for the recruitment, education and monitoring of theresearch participants; will undertake clinical assessments and facilitate the accurate collection and documentation of research data.

We are looking at expanding our team which will involve a seven day working week in the future.
Main duties of the job
To be part of a dynamic team of research delivery staff providing clinical trial/research study support service to the Trust, focusing on delivery ofcritical care trials. The role will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of critical care research patients and the collection anddocumentation of accurate trial data. You will assist medical staff with the recruitment and consent of patients and be a point of contact for bothpatients and their families once enrolled on studies.
In addition to clinic-based tasks, you will be involved in data collection, adhering to Good Clinical Practice and research governance guidelinesand provide safe care to research participants throughout their trial experience.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email mtw-tr.professionalstandards@nhs.net if this is problematic)and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.
