Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Data Administrator to join The Trauma and Orthopaedics department. We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a keen eye for detail and data to join our expanding team. It is an exciting time to join the team, with the planned opening of the Kent and Medway Orthopaedic Centre in Spring 2024.

The role is key to ensuring that reporting on all of our joint replacements takes place in line with national requirements. Working alongside our clinicians, managers, and administrative team across the directorate, you must be a self-motivated team player who is keen to get stuck in.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will enable, promote and support the National Joint Registry (NJR) data collection process. The post holder will provide day to day support to staff and the collection and submission of patient data. Working as part of the Trauma and Orthopaedic team, the post holder will partake in the information management and data collection requirements of the NJR. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, collection and input of data for all patients who have had joint replacement surgery of the hip, knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow including all revisions.

The post holder will be expected to source the data from both paper and electronic systems such as patient records and the patient administration system and provide in-depth data analyses and presentation material as requested.

  • Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • NVQ customer care 2 or equivalent experience

Experience/Knowledge

  • Significant proven administrative experience
  • Experience of working in an customer focused environment
  • Experience of managing a high volume of calls during peak periods, prioritising work and situations
  • Excellent communication with the ability to: relate to a diverse group of professional staff and Public
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrable ability to manage and prioritise workload and work methodically, efficiently and accurately to meet tight deadlines.

Desirable

  • Experience in keeping systems up to date including using spreadsheets and databases
  • Experience in a hospital or other health care setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience of working with hospital administration systems e.g. Allscripts
