Band 3 Fibroscan Technician - Fixed Term 12 months
An exciting opportunity for a Fibro-Scan Technician/Hepatology assistant in the Gastroenterology department within Medical Specialities working alongside the Liver CNS.
This post is newly created and funding has been given for a fixed term period of 12 months in view of continuing this role after this period if additional funding becomes available.
We are looking for individuals with an interest in working within the liver service cross the 2 sites at MTW, in particular with regards to fibro-scanning, and completing the administration pre/post clinics.
Fibro-scan is a simple bedside non-invasive test, it is a portable machine which is used to assess the degree of scarring in the liver.
Full training will be provided for successful candidates.

- NVQ level 3 or diploma in healthcare (competency based and completed in the workplace)
- Good standard of general education to a minimum of GCSE standard or equivalent to include Maths and English.
Desirable
- Knowledge of liver/liver health

- Experience of effectively planning / organising / prioritising own work in order to meet deadlines / service standards.
- Confident and proficient in the use of various IT packages and systems within a busy work environment, including the Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel), with intermediate keyboard skills.
- Able to produce reports and ensure excellent communication of findings are maintained.
- Recent experience of working within the NHS with an understanding of the workings of the NHS.
