Job summary

We are excited to be able to offer a great opportunity to join our Trust as the interim Antimicrobial Lead Pharmacist

Working closely with our welcoming and friendly team of Consultant Microbiologists and Pharmacy team you will take the lead for antibiotic stewardship across the Trust

You should already have experience of antimicrobial stewardship and proven excellent communication skills

Main duties of the job

Duties include; co-ordinating the Trust antimicrobial stewardship group, membership of the Trust Infection Control Committee and sepsis group, teaching staff in the safe use of antibiotics, auditing prescribing practice and updating guidelines and policies. You will be supported in this role by the Pharmacist for antimicrobials based at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and also by our experienced team of senior Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians across the Trust

You must already be a confident, experienced Pharmacist, with excellent communication skills and a postgraduate clinical pharmacy diploma / MSc. Ideally, the post holder will also be an educational or practice supervisor.

  • vocational masters degree in pharmacy
  • post graduate MSc or diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent

Desirable

  • Independent prescribing qualification
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
  • Qualification in antimicrobial stewardship

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of monitoring/auditing patients on antimicrobials
  • significant post registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • experience in delivering a high quality clinical service to wards
  • experience in conducting audits/drug usage
