Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust

Mercer Ward - Ward Clerk ( fixed term)

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Mercer Ward is looking for a part time ward clerk - this is a fixed term contract to cover Maternity Leave ( Thurs/Fri) from your start date until August 2024.

The post-holder will be responsible for providing a front-line reception service on Mercer Ward, delivering a high standard of customer care to a wide range of client groups, including the ward's multi-disciplinary team, patients, relatives and their careers.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will play a proactive role in collecting, investigating, verifying and recording a high standard of patient demographic and treatment data. The post holder must accurately and in a timely manner enter such information on the computerised patient information system, to ensure that the trust receives the appropriate level of income for patient activity, avoids the potential clinical risks inherent with inaccurate patient records and is compliant with national NHS targets (e.g. on data quality and length of patient wait).

The Ward Clerk will help the team manage medical records, assist with phone enquires, order supplies, support in simple clinical audits and more.

We are looking for someone with good IT skills, as most of the work in MTW is now computer based as new systems like Sunrise and Teletracking are now in place.
