Job summary
The Finance Manager for the Income Team participates in interpreting and implementing the NHS Payment Scheme rules and provides advice to directorates of the impact on directorate income of changes to tariff guidance. The Finance Manager is also responsible for reporting on and interpreting clinical income at both a directorate and trust wide level.
To be successful in this post you will be required to have excellent communication and organisational skills, be able to manage your own workload, work to tight deadlines and have a good eye for detail.
You should have experience working in a complex financial environment and have excellent technical and communication skills. You will be responsible for the line management of two Band 6 Finance & Contracts accountants, and should have experience of managing and developing staff.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include:
- Finance managing all transactions / activity associated with the Trusts main Acute and Specialised Commissioning Contracts
- Responsible for compiling the Monthly Contract monitoring schedules and associated Income reports (Directorate summaries, Integrated Performance Report etc)
- Monthly contract reconciliation - work with the Head of Contracting & Income and the Commissioning Contract and Finance teams to answer all associated queries with the Contract performance
- Tariff excluded High Cost Drugs and devices reporting - develop and maintain processes to ensure complete collection of all income associated with these areas
- Responsibility for day to day line management of the Income Team
- Deputising where necessary for the Head of Contracting & Income
