Job summary

The pathology IT department are looking for a motivated, methodical individual with a keen interest in IT to join their team on an 18 month secondment supporting the Kent & Medway STP new Laboratory Information System (LIMS) project. Applicants must have laboratory experience and ideally would have used Telepath and other MTW clinical systems.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be responsible for all technical aspects for the different areas within Pathology. This includes planning, monitoring and quality assurance activities in Pathology IT as well as support, documentation and other duties as advised by the Pathology IT Manager. Maintaining a good working relationship with both internal and external end users including CCGs, GPs, community services, other trusts and third-party suppliers will be a key element in this role.

The successful candidate will have experience of providing high level troubleshooting of IT systems associated within the different areas of Pathology and be conversant with the technologies and methodologies specific to the various sections across all of Pathology.

Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.

  • Experience of working in Pathology Laboratory
