Job summary
An opportunity has arisen within the Facilities Management Directorate for a full time General Porter, to join our hard working and dedicated facilities team in a permanent full time role. Providing an efficient, effective and fully comprehensive Portering service across Maidstone Hospital.
The full time hours are 30 per week, based on rostered rotating shift patterns.
We are looking for individuals that have demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm, excellent inter-personal and communication skills. Person should be motivated, hardworking and able to work as part of our team.
Previous experience of working within a Customer Service or Healthcare environment would be advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.
Main duties of the job
The General Porter will be a multi-skilled individual working within a team. Responsible for maintaining a comprehensive, professional and responsive high quality porter service to patients, staff, visitors and all service users.
Will undertake the movement of patients, equipment, linen,waste etc. in an efficient and safe manner.
Maintaining a clean and safe environment in accordance with specification and Trusts policy.
Be responsive to service needs as they arise. Constantly seeking ways to improve the productivity and quality of the service.
Undertake necessary training to ensure that an efficient Portering service ismaintained. These duties will be carried out both in patient and non-patient environments.
All work must be undertaken in line with Health and Safety, InfectionPrevention, Security and all Trust Policy and Procedures.
