Job summary
Applications for substantive vacancies are invited from confident, motivated and energetic individuals to work alongside our Point of Care Testing (POCT) and Microbiology diagnostic services. Our Rapid Covid team will receive full training on new analytical equipment and will be responsible for providing a 24/7 shift service on both acute Trust sites to deliver accurate high-quality results to the clinical teams that need them.
Main duties of the job
This role will involve working as part of the team to perform a range of tasks that contribute to the smooth running of the near patient devices including: system administration, reagent management, device maintenance, operator training and audits. The successful candidate will be able to develop excellent work relationships with the clinical team and colleagues in the POCT team, work equally well with others as independently and have good problem-solving skills.
The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 560,000 people living in the south of West Kent and the north of East Sussex.
The Trust has two main clinical sites which both contain 24/7 Emergency Departments: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trusts Clinical Induction Programme for Clinical Support Workers (which starts on the first day of employment). The programme is full-time (please contact the CSW Induction Programme Lead ifthis is going to be problematic: rallen@nhs.net),lasts for two weeks and will involve travelling tobothTrust sites.Theprogramme includes 2 supernumerary shiftsin the clinical area (an early and a late shift),all of the other days are classroom-based andrun from 9am to 5pm

- Minimum of 5 GCSE's including English Language, Mathematics and a science subject. Grade 4 and above.
- Educated to NVQ 3 equivalent level plus theoretical or applied training to diploma equivalent level of experience
