Do you have a degree in any of the Sciences, are looking to continue learning and studying for a professional career in Clinical Coding? Then we would like to hear from you.

This role will involve extracting medical diagnoses/procedures from various source documents (e.g. case notes, electronic patient record, proformas), translating this into national codes using ICD-10 and OPCS-4 classifications, and entering the codes onto the 3M Medicode system. The department works to strict deadlines in order to meet National Data Submission deadlines.

We offer flexible working and also have an inhouse Clinical Coding Training and Audit team to support with future career development.

Main duties of the job

This is an entry level trainee position and represents the first step on a career path towards becoming an Accredited Clinical Coder.

Trainees have an extensive mentoring and training package to develop an existing skill base. You would need to be prepared to embark on a 2 year study programme in addition to your home study and you will in return benefit from salary progression.

At Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells we recognise the importance of skilled clinical coding professionals and are committed to ongoing training and development, with the support of our Training and Audit team. You will be part of an environment where your ideas and skills are valued, where you are supported in developing your full potential and where your individual contribution is respected, recognised and rewarded.
