We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our motivated and enthusiastic team working on our Acute Stroke team at Leicester Royal Infirmary. We are seeking applicants who have experience working with stroke patients and who are team players and enjoy the challenge of the acute setting.

The Therapy Service at UHL has a high profile within the Trust, this being reflected across our medical wards.
The acute stroke team is responsible for delivering a service across the acute stroke unit, this is based at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
You will be working alongside a large Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) to provide assessment and treatment of patients following a stroke. We are passionate about promoting independence and preventing deconditioning in the acute hospital.
Main duties of the job
You will demonstrate excellent communication, prioritisation and time management skills. This post will be suitable for a candidate who has a wide range of rotational experience, particularly in the area of stroke and neurology.
You will join a supportive team of and Occupational Therapists and physiotherapists in the acute stroke team. You will receive regular supervision, appraisal and be encouraged to be involved in service development, audit and research. You will be expected to support and supervise other staff as well as provide practice placements for students.
The successful candidate would need to be flexible in their working as the service is provided over 7 days a week. The team are working to provide a collaborative approach to therapy across all systems.
