CRN EM Direct Delivery Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be a part of our CRN East Midlands flexible workforce, the Direct Delivery Team. We are seeking a B6 Senior Research Nurse with current research experience in supporting the conduct of research across differing specialties and settings, supporting commercial and non-commercial research.

Traditionally, the majority of healthcare research has been conducted in secondary care settings, however, the research landscape is changing and this post will be vital in supporting the LCRN in adapting to this change. Our Direct Delivery Team's flexible workforce has built a reputation of excellence, providing researchers with a service to achieve high-quality outcomes.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small team of research staff in our Leicestershire Hub, however extensive traveling across the county will be expected, and some travel across the East Midlands will be required.

This post is a 2 year fixed term contract within the NHS; you will be responsible for your own workload and support colleagues to carry out their caseloads of NIHR portfolio research trials/studies.

Main duties of the job

We continue to collaborate and support research delivery with our existing partner organisations in acute, community, and primary care but the post holder will be expected to engage with local authorities, schools, prisons, universities, pharmacies, dental practices, community groups, care homes, and domiciliary care services with a view to developing their research capability and capacity and widen the scope and opportunities for research participation throughout Leicestershire.

Duties: to provide clinical study research nurse support to various clinical specialties conducting research in NHS organisations/IHSP/local authorities, care homes, social services, and community settings across the CRN East Midlands region.

To provide the highest standards of patient care in line with Research protocols and will ensure that such research safeguards the wellbeing of the patients and is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice guidelines for research. Take responsibility for the management, coordination, and facilitation of concurrent research studies.

To assist in the delivery of a high-quality research service of clinical expertise, professional advice, support, guidance, and education to the multi-professional team, patients, and carers within the research service. Work will be in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines for the conduct of clinical research trials providing clinical support and expertise in NIHR portfolio research projects.
