Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity a Radiology Department Assistant to be based at to be predominantly to be based at Coalville Community Hospital Radiology department.

Please note this opportunity will be considered either as a Secondment or a Fixed-Term vacancy.

This post will be based in Imaging and will include duties such as;

  • Basic clerical and reception duties including using Radiology computer systems
  • Carrying out duties involving patient care and welfare. This will include assisting the Radiology team where appropriate
  • To assist patients prior to, during, and after the examination including being able to give the patient a basic explanation of procedures
  • Assist in the safe discharge of the patient from the department
  • Ensure accuracy of patient and examination details
  • Assist in the cleaning and preparation of the room prior to and post procedure
  • Liaise with other departments and wards to ensure effective communication
  • Ensure mandatory training is up to date and remain updated with new developments and policies

The normal working hours will be 0830 - 16:30 with weekend and bank holiday working. This post is for 37.5 hours per week. There will also be a need for some cross-site working across the other Community sites; therefore it is imperative to have access to own transport.

  • The RDA will work closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues within the Radiology Department and liaise with other departments and wards to ensure effective communication
