Job summary
This exciting nutrition support post can be offered as a band 6 post for a band 5 dietitian with at least 6 months experience, or a training post for a newly qualified dietitian (or waiting for HCPC registration) with progression to band 6 with submission of a portfolio.

This post is based at Glenfield Hospital, which specialises in heart disease, respiratory, lung cancer, renal and hepatobiliary. It also has a large intensive care (it is one of the 6 centres in the UK to provide ECMO) and a brand new Respiratory Support Unit.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a dietetic team providing nutrition support and dietetic management to the following areas: respiratory, cardiac, COPD, lung cancer, thoracic and vascular surgery and will include patients who have stepped down from ITU. You will receive support and clinical supervision helping you to develop your own specialist skills and knowledge.
Working closely alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the delivery of the services, offering assessment, formulation and treatment plans to a range of different in-patient groups. The post remit will also include teaching and training of healthcare professionals, resource development and student dietetic training.
