JOB TITLE: Senior Radiographer
BAND: Band 6
BASE: Your primary base will be the Glenfiled Hospital but travel between UHL hospital sites to work in other areas may be required.
HOURS: 37.5 per week. Participation in 24/7 working will be required, including bank and public holidays. Part time workers welcome to apply.

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Imaging Service Managers
Main duties of the job
The plain film work load includes GP appointments, outpatients, orthopaedic and some urology and thoracic theatre cases. Some staff have also helped out at times working in the Leicestershire community hospitals and in the Radiology Emergency Department at Leicester Royal Infirmary.
The nearby Leicester Royal Infirmary has a busy Emergency Department and following a suitable induction period at your base site, there exists a potential opportunity for those who also wish to develop their trauma experience via an additional bank post.
It is essential that you are highly motivated, a good communicator and team player and enthusiastic. You will be required to take on additional non-clinical responsibilities to support the quality control, audit, recruitment and other service requirements. You will be adaptable to change and have excellent organisational skills. Commitment to high quality patient care is essential. This post is suitable for experienced radiographers wishing to expand their skills and areas of responsibility.
As a successful applicant, you will be required to participate in the 24/7 out-of-hours roster which includes night duties, weekends and public holiday shifts and you may be expected to work cross site.

- This is primarily a clinical role with a degree of first line management appropriate to address service needs. The post-holder will be primarily based in one area, providing leadership and specialist expertise within the area. The post-holder may also work in other areas/modalities as part of a rota.
- The post-holder will be expected to deliver a high quality, effective and efficient radiographic service to the highest professional standards. The role is to provide clinical excellence and manage the day to day organisation of the area providing effective and efficient leadership of the area.
