Job summary
We're really excited to be recruiting to this newly created post, which will be our fourth consultant pharmacist post at UHL.As a consultant pharmacist the post holder will work across the interlinked areas of oncology and cancer trials. They will spend 50% of their time working within an area of oncology to develop the clinical service and, as the pharmacy expert within cancer trials, also provide a dynamic link between the Hope Cancer Trials Centre and pharmacy service including optimising models for delivering clinical research as part of patient care pathways. In all of this they will work to ensure the best experience and outcomes for patients from medicines used in cancer - both within standard care and research.
This is a new and exciting post and we'd strongly encourage prospective candidates to get in touch and discuss the details further. This post is in development for submission to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society for accreditation as a Consultant Pharmacist post.
Please note we are also willing to consider candidates who don't yet meet all the essential criteria, potentially appointing such a candidate into a progression post with agreed milestones (on an Annex 21 of Agenda for Change basis).
Main duties of the job
- To manage, strategically lead and co-ordinate the pharmacy team in the provision of a safe, effective and efficient clinical trials pharmacy service to oncology, in accordance with local and national standards and strategy.

- The post holder will, via the Director of Hope Cancer Trials Centre and Principal Pharmacist Clinical Trials, contribute to R&I discussion and decision making as appropriate
