HOURS: Up to 37.5 hours per week (plus weekends, bank holidays and on call services as per departmental rotas)

UHL comprises three acute teaching hospitals and is one of the largest Trusts in the country, serving over million residents of Leicestershire and Rutland and providing tertiary services on a national level. We are undergoing a period of reconfiguration of services with £450m of associated investment, which includes plans for two 'super' intensive care units at LRI and Glenfield sites.
In your role you will utilise your clinical experience by providing daily clinical pharmacy services to specified wards, associated areas, assisting with the training and development of others and supporting the improvement of pharmacy services.

Each post holder will be supported by the multidisciplinary team as we expand the current range of services and they will help maintain the high standard of services that are already provided. There is an ever-growing number of Independent Prescribers in the teams and a strong desire to increase these numbers further so that responsibility for prescribing becomes integral to a pharmacist's roles.

To deliver a clinical service to patients, including taking patient drug histories, rationalising prescribing, advising on and compiling treatment protocols, therapeutic drug monitoring and monitoring compliance whilst in the relevant CMG rotation. To support the CMG Lead Pharmacist in maintaining and improving the pharmaceutical service to the clinical management group (CMG). To be responsible for the delivery of an agreed standard of pharmaceutical care to identified patients in order to achieve the safe and cost effective use of medicine.
Successful post holders will be:
Self-motivated, patient focused, an effective communicator, enthusiastic and forward thinking
work as part of multiple teams whilst working independently if necessary, influence, motivate and improve the practice of others,
identify areas for improvement in current practice, train and develop others
