Consultant Cellular Pathologist
This is a new post within the Department of Cellular Pathology in the Clinical Support and Imaging Clinical Management Group (CMG). The post is based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. Interviews will be held in March 2026.
The appointment will be whole time (10 PA) and it is anticipated that the appointed personwill support the Skin and Urology teams along with other specialities, subject to service requirement and discussion and agreement, along with PAs allocated for education.. Any consultant who is unable for personal reasons to work whole time will be eligible to be considered for the post. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Main duties of the job
Applications are invited for a Consultant Cellular Pathologist to join our committed and enthusiastic team in supporting the Cellular Pathology department in Leicester. The position will be primarily based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary site, but with the possibility of travel to theGlenfield Hospital or Leicester General Hospital for some duties. It is expected that the appointment will be covering dermatopathology and Urology, along withother specialties included in the role being subject to service requirement, discussion and agreement.
You are expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching (including supervision, training, assessment and appraisal of specialist registrars and biomedical scientists), clinical audit, research and development. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and may also be required to undertake management duties.
Membership of the Royal College of Pathologists and full GMC registration with a licence to practice is a requirement of the role.

- MB BS or Equivalent
- Full GMC Registration
- Full and specialist registration (and with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- If an applicant is UK trained, they must ALSO be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
