Job summary

We are looking for an energetic and motivated individual with a genuine interest in Occupational Health Nursing for this exciting role.

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trusts' Occupational Health (OH) Service is one of the biggest NHS OH Services in the UK and has been accredited by SEQOHS since 2012.

The successful candidate will be working in the OH Departments cross site as well as at off site clinics. The OH Service in Leicester provides Occupational Health services to a number of NHS organisations and other companies in and around Leicester / shire

The Occupational Health Departments are busy and demanding areas. We require dynamic individuals who can work autonomously as well as part of a team and manage under pressure.

You will need to be able to relate well to staff at all levels within an organisation. You will also need to be willing to diversify and change in line with the needs of the service. Excellent clinical skills are necessary to ensure that the service is run to a high standard.

Applicants should have at least 2 years post registration experience at Band 5 or equivalent, preferably in the NHS, and understand the importance of confidentiality.

It is also preferable that you have access to a vehicle and a full Driving Licence. A high level of computer literacy is essential. We offer a comprehensive induction programme and a supportive environment to develop.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for assisting with the implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidenced-based Occupational Health nursing care to patients.

Assisting and contributing to the organisation of the clinical area.

Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.

Actively participate in the education, development and supervision of other staff members.

Act as a clinical and professional role model supporting new members of staff within the clinical area.

Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients.

Travel to sites within Leicestershire.
