BAND 6 Occupational Therapist
Oncology Team - LRI
Permanent Position - Full Time Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our well-established Oncology and Haematology Therapy Team at UHL. This role will continue to support patients across our existing Oncology and Haematology services, while also playing a key role in developing and delivering specialist therapy services for patients undergoing Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell therapy - or CAR T-cell therapy - a cutting-edge treatment now being provided at UHL.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of a supportive and experienced multi-disciplinary team to assess and treat patients referred to the service, with an aim to facilitate discharge from the acute setting as efficiently and effectively as possible.
You will have the opportunity to deliver specialist OT input to patients with complex needs and help to shape and embed the rehabilitation approach for CAR-T patients as part of our evolving service.
We are seeking an enthusiastic clinician with strong communication and clinical reasoning skills, experience in acute or oncology settings, and an interest in service development.
Be part of this exciting new chapter in cancer care at UHL.
About us
We have four primary goals:
- high-quality care for all,
- being a great place to work,
- partnerships for impact, and
- research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
- we are compassionate,
- we are proud,
- we are inclusive, and
- we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
