Are you a dynamic, experienced nurse with a passion for improving patient outcomes in endoscopy? Join our forward-thinking endoscopy team at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL) NHS Trust and shape the future of diagnostic endoscopy care. We are delighted to offer an exciting new opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our Clinical Endoscopist team at UHL. Working alongside our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through their diagnostic journey, ensuring timely care, continuity, and exceptional standards throughout.
You will be an autonomous independent practitioner at the forefront of their speciality and profession, which will be used as the basis for original thinking, providing senior clinical expertise, excellence, leadership and development.
You will be instrumental in:
- Leading on clinical decision-making and advanced assessments for patient undergoing procedures within the endoscopy capsule service and capsule sponge service at UHL among others.
- Driving service improvement initiatives, audits, and evidence-based practice.
- Supporting and educating staff to maintain clinical excellence.
- Collaborating with consultants, endoscopists, and our operational team to optimise patient flow and reduce diagnostic delays.
- Providing specialist advice, triage, and follow-up for patients with complex clinical needs.
About us
Our new strategy, developed with the support and feedback of colleagues, patients, and partners, is our compass for the next seven years (2023-2030).
We have four primary goals:
- high-quality care for all,
- being a great place to work,
- partnerships for impact, and
- research and education excellence
And we will embed health equality in all we do - taking active steps to reduce the avoidable differences in healthcare that some people face, working in partnership with communities.
Our strategy is underpinned by new values and we will work to ensure they are an everyday reality for all:
- we are compassionate,
- we are proud,
- we are inclusive, and
- we are one team
This is an exciting moment as we look to the future with clarity on what we already do well and where we need to focus our energies to make an even bigger difference for the people we serve.
