Job summary

o Based at St Mary's Birth Centre in Melton Mowbray which undertakes care of families in the antenatal, intrapartum, and post-natal periods. Work is primarily within the birth centre itself within a small team. On occasion, work includes supporting neighbouring teams within Leicestershire and Rutland.

o The role requires working a series of shifts including weekends and night shifts.

o Provide clinical and non-clinical support to the Multi-professional team under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

o Deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an appropriate Registered Health Care Professional.

Main duties of the job

o

For this role you will mainly be working at St Marys Birth Centre but you would also be required to work in the wider community setting also to support in GP surgeries, children's centre's and in peoples homes. You will perform a range of clinical skills such as venepuncture and newborn blood spot screening, as well as performing administrative tasks, including documentation in patient records and coordination of clinical activities.

We are proud to have achieved Baby Friendly accreditation and the post-holder will be required to offer evidence based, infant feeding advice and support, to ensure babies and parents are offered the best start.
