Based at Leicester Leicester General Hospital but can be based across all three UHL sites
We have opportunities for you to join our Supervisory Team working Mon-Fri pm shift, some weekend working required.
We are looking for well-motivated individual's, capable of working on own initiative to join our soft services within the domestic department
You must have a professional and logical approach to your work. Previous experience of a similar role within a hospital environment is desirable computer skills are essential and the supervising of staff members
In-house training will be provided. The benefits of joining our Team are enhanced weekend payments and unsocial hours payments, We look forward to you joining our Team.

Main duties of the job
To provide effective supervision within the domestics team ensuring a continued professional and a responsive cleaning to meet the needs of the service.
This post requires you to be hands on working within the team undertaking duties that may be required within the Domestic Team.

Job responsibilities
- Working flexibly within the Domestic Team
- Be able to communicate and liaise effectively within the Domestic team in accordance with Trust values.
- Ensuring that cleaning is carried out to the required frequencies and standards, in line with the National Specifications of Cleanliness
- Ensuring that waste is correctly segregated and bins are routinely emptied and relined as required and that waste is stored/removed as Trust Waste Policy.
- Ensure that any mechanical defects, faulty or broken equipment identified is recorded and report
- Reporting of Incidents, accidents or near misses in accordance with Trust procedure.
- Ensuring that the correct storage and economical use of materials and chemicals following, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) policies and procedures
- To organize and plan work tasks within the team, completing work rotas, recording sickness & absence and approve annual leave, ensuring sufficient cover is provided.
- To undertake scheduled cleaning audits using a hand held electronic monitoring FM 1st system, ensuring rectifications are completed within the specified time scales.
- To follow Trust Infection Prevention policy when carrying out cleaning tasks, adhering to the Trust colour coding system to prevent cross infection.
- The post holder may be reasonably requested to provide operational support, undertake other duties when required.
