We are seeking exceptional individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic and thrive in the demanding and challenging nursing environment of a 18 bedded Oncology ward.
You will play a key role in ensuring patients, carers, clinical staff and the wider community have the necessary education and training in order to care for Oncology patients effectively. You will be an effective role model ensuring support to enable the team to rationalise current agenda's in order to create a vision of reality and implementation in the clinical setting.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to provide support, specialised knowledge and expertise in the management of Oncology patients. Working within this busy environment will provide you with an opportunity to demonstrate you're clinical, managerial and leadership skills.
As an effective leader and role model you will work flexibly as a member of the ward team and in support of the Ward Sister, ensuring, standards are maintained, evaluated, and where necessary improved.
A fundamental aspect of your role will be to ensure patient and staff safety, supporting the ward sister in developing all aspects of the ward including provision of policies and procedures, ensuring the delivery of a high standard of quality clinical care, improvements to the patients' environment, and staff development

Ensure that the delivery of care to patients and for all patients when in charge meet the standards determined by the Ward/Unit Manager and the Standards for Better Health.

Share responsibility with the Ward/Unit Manager to ensure that the highest standards of infection prevention and control are practiced at all times.

Contribute to the development of CMG and Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines and ensure compliance of self and others.

Take due regard of the importance of the effect and consequence of the ward /care environment with regard to its physical, psychological and social effects on patients and care delivery.

Promote, develop and implement patient and public involvement activities in the ward area, leading to service improvement.

Ensure that self and team members act at all times to provide a personalised service to patients in accordance with agreed standards and promote quality, diversity and rights.
