Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a ward leader post within Oncology on ward 39. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Nurse to lead the team specialising in Oncology. Ward 39 is currently an 18 bedded inpatient ward but will be increasing there bed capacity by a further 7 beds.
You will be joining an established and exceptional team within the CHUGGS CMG. We encourage new ideas, skills, and ways of working that you can bring to the ward team to help us strive become the best team and deliver high quality care
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to be an expert clinical practitioner. have knowledge of Oncology disease and procedures related to the speciality. They must be visible, accessible and responsive to the needs of the staff, service users, patients, carers and the public.
The post holderwill be an expert clinical practitioner in the field, be required to work clinical shifts as well as providing managerial cover, and be an enthusiastic integral member of our committed team, providing and supervising the delivery of excellent quality care.
Wider responsibilities include; creating a supportive learning environment for continuing development; reporting to the Matron and supporting the wider organisation; reduction of risks and harms ; managing resources and information; and co-ordinating activity and flow and the provision of care at Ward level and across the CMG.

- In the absence of the Matron lead the unit team and build successful links between nursing and other professions to support and promote effective multi-disciplinary team working.

- Act as a resource and advisor, responsible for the allocation of patients to staff and the co-ordination of care delivery.
