Job Title: Receptionist - Leicester General Hospital
Band: Band 2
Base: You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility isrequired across the three main hospital sites (Leicester RoyalInfirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital). Ifyour initial location is one of these sites excess travelreimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporarychange of base.

Main duties of the job
We are currently recruiting for a Receptionist to work on our busy front line desk at the Leicester General Hospital.
The Hospital Reception Desks operates between the hours of 0800-2000. However, flexibility is required to cover for annual leave and sickness.
This is a permanent Contract and you will be required to work on a 3 week rotational pattern (the rota is attached in the attachments section)
The successful candidate needs to be a well-organised person with excellent interpersonal skills to work on our Frontline Desks. You will be the first point of contact for all visitors that come to the Reception Desks. It is essential that you have excellent communication skills and a good telephone manner and look presentable.
Experience of working in a customer focused environment or similar role is required, together with GCSE English & Maths and accurate keyboard skills are essential. A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Reception Role or similar is desirable, although not essential, as full training will be given.

- Ensuring, where appropriate visitors sign in and provide identification badges where required
- Key control responsibilities, issuing and maintaining a key log.
- Providing a prompt, efficient, polite telephone service, directing calls accurately and providing information as required.
- To undertake a variety of general office duties, including typing, filing and changing server backup tapes on a daily basis where required.
- Reporting of complaints and incidents adhering to policies and procedures.
- Responsible for monitoring access, CCTV (close circuit TV) functions where installed.
- May be required to test and co-ordinate personal alarm systems.
- Where there is on site car parking available, to be responsible to report incidents or issues occurring in the car park and where applicable administration of parkingpermits.
- Receiving and sorting post Internal and external with franking of post where required.
- Co-ordinating the delivery and collection of Lab samples via trust van drivers or couriers where required.
