An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to apply for the role of Band 6 deputy Sister/ deputy Charge Nurse in the Emergency Department.
This post is not a rotational post in the Emergency Department; we are looking for experienced band 5 or band 6 to take on the challenge of assisting in the leadership of:
This is a brand-new role within the emergency department. We are now seeing a significant increase in the time it takes patients to transfer out of the emergency department. This post holder will ensure high standards of nursing care are being delivered to patients waiting in these areas. You will work closely with the band 7 in these areas to ensure this is being delivered.
Blue majors is a 16 bedded area with individual bays.
Blue Ambulatory is an area in the emergency department which take patients who are being considered ambulatory. They are then diagnosed and treated throughout the day, without an overnight admission where possible. This is a fast-paced environment with lots of activity.
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, confident and self-motivated nurses who possess excellent communication skills and enjoy a challenge. Applicants must enjoy a fast pace acute environment as well as having a keen interest in ensuring high quality nursing standards are being delivered.
Main duties of the job

Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation
and evaluation of programmes of evidence-based nursing
care to a group of patients.

Leadership and supervision of others carrying out all aspects of the caring process.

Deputise and take charge of the area regularly in the absence of the sister / Charge Nurse who has 24 hour accountability and responsibility.

Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care. Participate in the effective clinical leadership and management of the ward team.

Actively contribute to the improvement of services and the quality-of-care provision to meet the needs of patients, service users and their families.

Act as a role model, mentoring, teaching, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement and participate in the education, development and mentorship of other staff.
