Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 CT/MRI Superintendent Radiographer, based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary (LRI).

The post holder will help to deliver the £450 million site reconfiguration program and the changes of the CT/MRI department to support this. This role will predominantly be CT but will require a close working relationship with the MRI superintendent as there will be a dual responsibility for the management of the Cross Sectional Imaging service at the LRI.

The LRI has 5 Canon CT scanners, 1 GE 1.5T and 2 Siemens (1x1.5T and 1x3T) MRI scanners.

Main duties of the job

  • To lead and develop the delivery of the Cross Sectional Imaging Service and to work co-operatively with the Modality and site Lead Managers to ensure we are delivering Imaging at its Best.

  • Non-clinical management (utilising radiographic knowledge and expertise) as well as working clinically when required. Day to day organisation of the Cross Sectional Imaging department including radiographers, radiology department assistants and other practitioners.

  • Participation in the Cross Section Rota and Superintendent out-of-hours and on-call service is required, along with a requirement to work cross site on occasion.

  • Qualified Radiographer - Degree level or equivalent
  • IV trained

Desirable

  • Post graduate qualifications /Leadership/Management course

Experience

  • Experience as a senior radiographer in CT and/or MRI within the NHS.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory/managerial experience
  • Awareness of current professional issues
