Physiotherapy Department Physiotherapy Technical Instructor

Respiratory Band 3 / 30 hours per week

This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a multidisciplinary team.

You will be working on the Respiratory wards with patients providing Physiotherapy interventions to patients with acute and chronic health conditions.You will be working alongside Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, delivering safe and effective, quality treatments including the assessment, and discharge of patients.

You will need to have experience working within a health care setting and ideally worked as a therapy assistant. You must have a clear understanding of the role of Physiotherapy.

You will receive comprehensive trust and service induction, regular supervision and annual appraisal and a training programme to support your development.

We have a well-established in-service training programme and a commitment to continuing professional development

Main duties of the job

This post requires a high level of personal responsibility and therefore we are looking for a person with a mature outlook, good communication skills, organisational skills and an ability to use their initiative. You will need to be motivated, organised and able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. You will need to have had experience of working with a variety of different people. The ability to use computers is essential in this post, as some administrative and clerical duties are involved

Post holders will work their core hours Monday to Friday but will also be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a roster system.

  • To carry a clinical caseload which has been discussed and delegated to them by the relevant team member who has delegation responsibilities for this task.
  • To work to Therapy and UHL Service priorities.
  • To work with patients, carers and their families in a sensitive and professional manner.
  • To liaise with other professionals for the benefit of the patient.
  • To work with and support those who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties
