Leicester and Nottingham University Hospital Trusts have been awarded additional NHS funding to develop the Paediatric and Young Person Rheumatology Service.This has led to an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Rheumatology Nurse Specialist position.
The role will involve working with a range of stakeholders across Health, Social Care and third sector organisations to facilitate appropriate care for children with Rheumatology across the region.
The successful candidate will act as the clinical expert and professional resource to the patients and carers and multi-professional team across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland, as well as our neighbouring counties.
The role will involve working alongside other members of the Rheumatology multidisciplinary team and Regional Lead Nurse to ensure children and young people access high-quality rheumatology care.
Main duties of the job

Act as a clinical expert and professional resource to the patients, carers and multi-professional team, within the rheumatology service.

Work alongside other Rheumatology team leader, specialist nurses and multi-disciplinary team to ensure the development and delivery of a high quality service.

Directly or indirectly influence all aspects of care and management of patients within the service/specialty.

Deliver high quality, clinically effective care, and patient experience, utilising research an in collaboration with colleagues in everyday practice.

Act as a role model and clinical resource demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership in the specialist area.

Support the development and delivery of a program of practice and professional development for staff within the specialty.

Have at least 5 years post-qualification experience with at least two years within the speciality.
