Job summary
The LRI has an Emergency Department containing 3 Wireless DR rooms and 2 CT Scanners and we also have separate departments for in-patients, paediatrics, out-patients and screening that have just undergone a full equipment refurbishment to brand new Samsung DR equipment.
Our Senior Paediatric Radiographers rotate around the paediatric areas and we have an established roster system different areas; week, weekend days and Bank Holiday duties, and on-call.
Rotation will include different areas of plain film, fluoroscopy, cath lab and dental radiography. It also covers Forensics CT.
There will be a period of induction and we fully embrace extended roles and aim to provide Imaging At Its Best. We have a very diverse and friendly team of Imaging staff. It is essential that you are a good communicator and a team player, enthusiastic and driven.
We work with brand new Samsung DR plain film units and we have state of the art Philips equipment installed in the cardiac catheter lab.
Within the imaging department we regularly support career progression in radiographic reporting/Advance Practice and other roles such as ultrasound and vascular access.

Main duties of the job
As a paediatric radiographer you will receive full training to work in the biplane paediatric cardiac catheter lab, rotation through plain film in our purpose built Emergency Department and our paediatric in-patient and out-patient departments. You will also have the opportunity to join our award winning Forensic Radiography service offering virtual autopsy should that be of interest to you.
Your working pattern will include participation on the 24 hour on-call rota for the cardiac catheter lab as well as weekend and public holiday shift working.
Excellent radiographic skills, leadership, teaching, coordination, organising skills. Ability to communicate and delegate appropriately.
