The Lead Pharmacy Technician will oversee a dedicated team of MMTs across their relevant Clinical Management Group. They will have oversight of the technical services and the supply of medicines to their relevant area. They will provide professional and operational leadership to their specified team of Medicines Management Technicians, acting as a strong role model for pharmacy technicians, pharmacists and trainees.
Working closely with the CMG Lead Pharmacist, the successful candidate will ensure provision of comprehensive, high qualityclinical pharmacy support that meet the needs of our patients and service users.

Main duties of the job
- This role is crucial in order to support the increasing demand and improve co-ordination of the pharmacy service to theCMG/service area to ensure delivery of full potential cost savings by utilising patient own drug schemes, cost effectivedispensing and stock management. To implement and maintain an effective system for stock management in all stockholding locations within the CMG
- Ensure control measures are in place to meet professional standards for drug receipt and storage minimising 'out ofstock' situations, preventing missed doses, drug waste and financial loss.
- To identify and implement CIP savings that relate to medicine expenditure in the CMG
- To lead and line manage the CMG/service area clinical technical team; as appropriate ensuring that all aspects ofperformance, attendance, training and appraisal are addressed in accordance with Trust Policy.
- To implement and manage robust, safe, effective and auditable processes and systems in line with national standardsand local policy and procedures e.g. Blueteq.
- To introduce and maintain effective systems to identify and communicate unavoidable treatment delays to keystakeholders. To take a lead role in improving medicines optimisation processes for CMG within UHL. Work closely withall stakeholders to include heads of service, matrons, clinicians and the wider MDT. To develop and implement effectivecommunication systems within the CMG/service area.
