Job summary

A very exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dynamic nurse to join our expanding Vascular Specialist Nurse service, based at Glenfield hospital.

We are looking for an individual with a strong affinity for multidisciplinary working. The suitable candidate will need to demonstrate evidence of excellent communication skills, strong passion to make a positive impact to patient care and good leadership skills. While specialist support and training will be provided for the right candidate, relevant clinical experience in vascular nursing or similar would be an important advantage.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide a high quality patient-centred service for patients with critical limb ischaemia, diabetic foot ulceration and peripheral arterial disease attending the Vascular clinics. Working alongside the current Vascular Specialist Nurses, you will be expected to liaise closely and build good working relationships with the Vascular Consultant team, Vascular Registrars, Clinical Vascular Scientists, Vascular Specialist Nurses, Vascular ward staff, Interventional Radiologists, Angio suite team and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

Expansion of the service into peripheral hospitals will be part of the service expansion and therefore the successful applicant will need a Full Driving Licence, access to a car and is able to travel to peripheral hospitals to run clinics.

Main duties of the job
