An exciting opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to join our Respiratory pharmacy team at UHL. The post is split working approximately half of the time on the acute Respiratory wards at Glenfield hospital with the other half developing integrated care services, including becoming an integral member the Complex COPD outpatient clinic MDT. You will be supporting the development and application of high quality, safe, cost effective & evidence based prescribing for Respiratory patients.
The post holder will regularly attend MDT meetings, undertake audit & service improvement projects and support junior pharmacy staff. Education & training to patients, carers & healthcare professionals across LLR will be an essential part of the role.

Main duties of the job
You will utilise your clinical experience by providing daily clinical pharmacy services to specified wards, associated areas, assisting with the training and development of others and supporting the improvement of the services.
You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team and will help maintain the high standard of services that are already provided. There is an ever growing number of Independent Prescribers in the teams and a strong desire to increase these numbers further so that responsibility for prescribing becomes integral to a pharmacist's roles.

You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge and specialist skills within respiratory and cardiology. Medicines optimisation is at the heart of our interactions with the patients under our care who present with a range of acute and complex cardiorespiratory conditions. We have well established links with our specialist clinical teams and work closely with them to provide support to these patients.
Post holder will be expected to contribute towards evening, on-call, bank holiday and weekend rotas.
